In the deserted gift shop at the Site of Reversible Destiny, we peruse racks of postcards. They’re lighter and cheaper than books, so we decide we can get as many as we want. We don’t pick any of the same cards, and when we pool our favorites, Rebecca remarks that Zack’s are all aerial views and diagrams of the site, while hers are views from ground level, a series of experiential vignettes. We make much of this fact on the train ride back. Here, our tendencies appear reversed, but they pivot around circulatory systems and state-change.
