Christina Leung and Aurora San Miguel
June 4- July 1st, 2023
Reposit/Depot
After a year-long hiatus, Double Garage is pleased to present Reposit/Depot, with new work by Aurora San Miguel and Christina Leung.
Opening Sunday June 4th from 3 to 6pm.
Double Garage is formed by two carports under a single roof at the union of a shared driveway between houses. Its status as an art space is temporary. It has spent most of its existence as a shelter for garden tools, cars, and household overflow. It has no doors.
Visits can be scheduled by appointment.

Maggie’s Cycle
The concealed nature of the material is uncovered twofold. First through the initial excavation within the property’s architecture and second through a process of over-pronounced display. Think of this as the staging of your uncle’s abandoned workshop or a physical projection of your obsessive lingering thoughts.
Aurora San Miguel lives and works in Seattle, WA.

New Ywork
In 2010, my partner and I took a day trip to visit the Barnes Foundation - we wanted to see it before it was relocated. The Barnes Foundation was and is a large collection of works by famous Impressionist artists, hung in a salon style in conversation with and next to decorative metalwork. I incorrectly remembered, or imagined, that Dr. Barnes made the metalworks on display, but he didn’t, he was the collector.
I made these steel objects without organization - intuitively and inefficiently from one machine to another and back and forth. Hardware elements supporting the walls and shelves, absorbed by the garage. All nuance, no info.
Christina Leung lives and works in NY.
